Beauty from Black

How will we know white without black?
How will we know gain without lack?
How will we know good without evil?
How will we know rest without upheaval?
How will we find the truth without the lies?
How will there be redemption?
Glory out of shame?
Different out of same?
How will anything be holy, if everything is holy?
These are the questions I ask
Waiting for heaven’s doors
For them to open.
These are the questions I ponder.
These are the things that I wonder.
How can there be peace without violence?
How can there be grace without sin?
How can one conquer if there is no enemy?
How?
What will come next?
These are the things I wonder
While waiting at heaven’s doors
These are the things that I ponder
If there is no less, how will there be more?
Show me, Lord, show me.
Is there not beauty from black?

My hand cannot quite reach to your dimension of perfection.
I must be shown.
